Hello, I need to know whether these Mountain King potatoes, 0 33383 53050, are GMO,genetically modified or genetically engineered, or not?
Your competition has packaging label logo showing that theirs is not.
It makes a difference to us and to others.
Hi Miriam,
None of our potatoes are genetically modified.
Thanks for your interest.
I am grateful that these potatoes a non gmo! I found it in small print on the bag! Why do you “hide it with such a small notice? Do you grow some other types of GMO potatoes?
Hi Michelle,
sorry for the late response – we do not sell any GMO potatoes, all our varieties are naturally good tasting
Thanks for being a MountainKing customer
How much solanine is in Mountain King potatoes? What greenish skin and green color under it means?
Hi Ola,
sorry for the late response. Solanine is something that happens naturally to potatoes when they are exposed to prolonged light. It doesn’t matter what brand you buy, all potatoes do that. For consumption, all green parts should be cut away liberally, as they will cause a bitter taste and can cause health problems in larger quantities.

I bought a 10 pound bag of your potatoes and I had to through halve of them out because they bruised or flat out starting to rot from the inside out.i have never been so disappointed ever in my life.
Hi Jennifer,
I am sorry that happened to you – unfortunately, the problem you had with our potatoes, is something that can happen and is not detectable from the outside. Our potatoes are inspected by the USDA before they leave our facility and even though they do cut samples of them to make sure there is no problem, some problem potatoes can still sneak through, as in your case. Russet potatoes are still in storage season, meaning the potatoes you buy at the store are harvested last year (usually September/October). That is how potatoes are made available all year round – they are kept in dark cool storage buildings and are basically asleep. While they are just as good as fresh harvested potatoes, sometimes problems can develop. In the next month, the first fresh Russets will become available. Most of the Red and Gold potatoes currently available are already, so called New Crop.
As stated on our bag, we do stand behind our product, and I will send you some coupons to replace your bag. We would send you to coupons for a free bag, we would just need the mailing address. Also, if you still have the plastic clip that was used to close the bag, please send me the code that is stamped on it. I can use the code to track down what lot these potatoes came from and make sure it is not a widespread problem.
Thanks for being a MountainKing customer.
I live in Hampton Georgia and bought a bag of your Jumbo potatoes and can’t remember where I purchased them 😩 they were the best I’ve ever had.
Hi,
Unfortunately, those potatoes are not always available, due to their size. Currently we do not have any distribution in Georgia.
Sorry,

Are these potatoes organically grown or are they sprayed and treated with chemicals?
Good morning Nancy,
Most of our potatoes are not organic – we do offer some organics, but it would say it on the front in large letters.

4 potatoes from my 10 lbs. bag purchased at a Sam’s Club in Lake Charles, Louisiana were completely inedible. I can send pictures of the potatoes and date of purchase on my receipt. If every potato is guaranteed, what is my next step?
Hi Amy,
I am sorry that happened to you, If you would send me your physical address to customerservice@mtnking.com I can send you coupons to replace the bag.
Best regards,
Andreas
How do we find out where the potatoes that we are eating are grown?
Good morning,
All our potatoes are grown in our fields in the San Luis Valley, Colorado.
Best regards,
Andreas
Are all of your potatoes still Non GMO?
Thank you!
Yes, and we have no plans to change that.
Thanks,
Andreas
